Kindness is like a jacket — what the world sees — inviting others in and making them feel welcomed. Humility is like a compass — guiding our decisions and relationships, keeping us aligned with God’s will. This sermon also speaks directly to the journey of faith. We don’t come to Christ knowing everything. We all need room to grow. Just because God has delivered us from certain behaviors doesn’t mean we get to judge others who are still on their journey. We are reminded to give grace because we, too, once needed grace. Never forget where God has brought you from. Pride is compared to playing chess with God — and that’s a game we will never win. Humility, on the other hand, invites the favor of God into our lives. When we choose to apologize first, bend the knee, and seek peace over winning, God steps into the details of our situations. Love is described as a backpack — what we pack to last us through the journey of relationships and community. Without love, we are empty. Scripture tells us in Romans 5:5 that God pours His love into our hearts, and in 1 Corinthians 13:2 that without love, we are nothing. Loved people love people. When we truly understand how much God has forgiven us, it changes how we treat others. This
