Why do relationships so often leave us hurt, insecure, jealous, exhausted, or empty? In Genesis 29–30 , we find a deeply messy family story filled with longing, comparison, favoritism, insecurity, manipulation, and heartbreak. Jacob, Leah, Rachel, and Laban are all searching for love in different ways—but much of it only creates more pain. And honestly? A lot of their struggles still sound familiar today. In this message, we explore four unhealthy ways people look for love: 1. Idolatrous Love — expecting another person to complete us 2. Works-Based Love — trying to earn love and approval 3. Envious Love — comparing ourselves to others and resenting what they have 4. Self-Driven Love — using people to build our own lives But Genesis doesn't just expose what's broken—it points us to something better. In the middle of all the dysfunction, God continues to see, pursue, provide for, and love people who don't have it all together. His redeeming love is the only kind of love strong enough to truly heal and restore us. If you've ever struggled with insecurity, relationship pain, comparison, loneliness, or trying to feel “enough,” this message is for you. 📖 Scriptures: Genesis 29–30 📍 Northland Church, 522 Dog Track Rd., Longwood, FL, 32750 🙌 Like • 🔔 Subscribe • 💬 Which relationship struggle do you think people struggle with most today? 🏷️ Hashtags #NorthlandChurch #BibleTeaching #ChristianSermon #Genesis29 #Genesis30 #Relationships #GodsLove #FaithAndRelationships #Healing #ChristianLiving
