What really happened at the cross—and why was it necessary? Seven hundred years before Jesus was crucified, Isaiah 53 revealed what would become the darkest moment in human history. Yet even in the darkness of Good Friday, God was working redemption for the world. In this powerful Good Friday message, we reflect on three movements that reveal both the depth of humanity’s sin and the depth of God’s love shown through the suffering Servant. Three dark movements of the cross: 1. Sinners Shamefully Treated the Savior – Humanity rejected the One who created us (Isaiah 53:3) 2. The Savior Took the Sentence of Sinners – Jesus suffered in our place for our sin (Isaiah 53:4–6) 3. The Sovereign Willed the Savior’s Suffering – The cross was not accidental—it was God’s plan to save us (Isaiah 53:7–10) But the darkness was never the end of the story. The turning point: “After he has suffered… he will see the light of life and be satisfied.” (Isaiah 53:11) What looked like defeat became deliverance. What looked like silence became salvation. What looked like the end became the beginning. Before we celebrate the empty tomb, we pause to remember the suffering Savior who took our place. 📖 Scripture: Isaiah 53 📍 Northland Church, 522 Dog track Rd, Longwood, FL, 32750 🗓️ Good Friday 2026 🙌 Like • 🔔 Subscribe • 💬 What does the cross mean personally to you this year? 🏷️ Hashtags #GoodFriday #Isaiah53 #TheCross #JesusSaves #ChristianSermon #PassionOfChrist #NorthlandChurch #HolyWeek #SubstitutionaryAtonement #GospelMessage
