We’ve all seen Philippians 4:13 on gym shirts, sports cleats, and graduation caps: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." As a new Christian, it’s easy to read that and think it’s a spiritual cheat code to achieve your dreams, ace your tests, or win every battle. But a mature faith looks at the context. When Paul wrote those words, he wasn't standing on a podium holding a trophy—he was sitting in a dark, cold Roman prison cell. He wasn’t saying, "I can achieve all my goals."
“What Philippians 4:13 Really Means” is a sermon by Josh Laxton from Northland Church in Longwood, FL. Published June 24, 2026. Watch the full sermon free on ChurchGrid.
