Join us this weekend as we begin our Advent series, “Nativity Stories.” Today, we hear about the shepherds in the story of Jesus’ birth. We’ll hear how seeing hope caused them to show hope to others. On that very first Christmas, shepherds were the first to hear the good news of Jesus’ arrival, and we hear their story year after year in this season. They heard that the Savior was coming to earth for everyone, not just an exclusive few. This was—and still is—good news! And it foreshadows Jesus’ steps among the people of that time. The shepherds were amazed by Jesus on that night, and they shared the hope of his good news with others. So what is this good news? It’s the news that you are loved no matter what and you are invited into eternity with God.
