Join us this weekend as we continue our sermon series “Honest to God.” Today, we hear about what we pray for—God’s kingdom come—and the power he has to make his will done. Talk About It! - What are we doing when we petition God, and how are we being shaped? - What is Jesus asking us to do? — When we pray, we hope the kingdom of God will impact us here and now on earth as we wait for Jesus to establish it. “Your kingdom come” means we are asking, pleading to experience something of the future power of God to break through to our present lives, right now in current pain or joy. This invites us to see his reign and power and learn about his will on earth as it is in heaven. Our Father is also our King of creation, and he has a will that is best for our lives. God’s kingdom is his authority—his sovereignty—over all things present and future.
